The Wildwood Inn is undergoing remodeling and the room was quite nice during my stay. We stayed in the cave and it was hard as a rock with a nice waterfall into the jacuzzi. It is not for the weak of heart; a one night weekend stay cost $269.00 + tax. [Rico, 10/16/2006]

Florence, Kentucky - Wildwood Inn Theme Motel

The Wildwood Inn Tropical Dome and Theme Suites is the ultimate cheesy theme room hotel in these here parts. Located in Northern Kentucky across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, the Wildwood Inn has some pretty funky theme rooms and tropical-fun-dome atrium that puts the Holidome to shame. There are even fake palm trees in the oarking lot. You can stay in your own private "authentic" African Safari Hut.

The lushly landscaped pleasure dome is a re-creation of a South Sea island and a tropical rainforest. The tropical-fun-dome includes a lagoon pool with an over-flowing Floral Rain Basket (what the heck is that anyway?) and a tropical "Hot Spa" and heated Waterfall-In-The-Mist.

Themed rooms include: 50's Happy Days Suite, Cave Suite, Champagne Suite, Cupid Suite, Nautical Suite, Oriental Suite, Polynesian Suite... [Surly Grrl, 12/24/2000]

Florence, Kentucky - Theme Motel

Florence, is home to the Wildwood inn, a unique motel and fundome, with a tropical flair. Complete with cement and plastic palm trees in the parking lot. The inn has the Shi-Awela African village, where lodgers may stay in "authentic" bush style dome huts circling a small lagoon. Zulu shields adorn the interior of the unit. Other theme rooms include the Victorian suite, the Cave man suite (complete with stalactites and bubbling creek), the Nautical suite (you sleep in a King-sized boat), the Contemporary suite and the Fitzgerald Suite (from the Great Gatsby period).

The rooms remind me of the Madonna Inn in Central California, though the structure isn't quite so grand. [Tracey Henry, 03/06/1999]
