Martin Castle Versailles Castle looks great, post-fire. However, as many have said, they don't take kindly to visitors that go to have a look-see and quickly send you on your way. I was there when there was not a single visitor there and even told them I was thinking of having an event there. They weren't biting!
[Jessica Beatty, 10/28/2011]In our local paper [11/12/2010] there was an AP photo of Versailles Castle from the Herald-Leader with a caption quoting the general manager of CastlePost that the property is for sale. After looking into it a bit: it is more a matter of anything is for sale if the price is right. Woodford County PVA assesses the 50 acres & castle for 4.5 million. Mr. Post, an out-of-state owner, who bought it for 1.8 million in 2003, is now offering the renovated castle for 30 million.
[S. Adams, 11/16/2010]The castle east of Versailles is no longer abandoned! It is now open as "Kentucky's Premier Luxury Tourist Home." The rooms aren't as expensive as I expected them to be, given that there are only fifteen rooms, but they are still high enough to keep me viewing the place from the highway.

Versailles Castle The castle is being rebuilt after the fire that destroyed the building inside the outer walls. You can see from the photo that it's a more elaborate structure than what existed prior to the fire.
[T. Roseberry, 09/26/2006]The castle which burned down last year is now being rebuilt. They've had trucks coming in and out of the place. The owner I heard is building a two-story home in the same spot as the original Castle house. According to local newspapers, he is going to make the home resemble the original one as much as possible.
