This museum and its signs no longer exist. Now it's just an empty lot.
[Molly Keogh, 08/10/2020]Jolly Green Giant Signs
We got a little turned around when visiting Le Sueur and ended up on a side street -- only to find giant Jolly Green Giant signs.
The signs are on the original site of the Green Giant canning plant, which closed and moved out of Le Sueur in 1979. The buildings were later torn down, but traces of them can still be seen around the site of the Le Suer Museum. After years of neglect, the museum has been reopened to the public, but by appointment only. The museum is located in a three-story schoolhouse built for the plant workers' children. Two tin signs advertising peas and corn are on the site of the museum.
A Jolly Green Giant sign is also one block to the north near a historical marker.

The historical society that ran the museum self-destructed in 2018, all its funding was cut, and the artifacts -- including an impressive collection of Green Giant memorabilia -- were sold off. The building was bulldozed.
