Prison cell block corridor. Eastern State Penitentiary

As I visited in December, I took one of their "winter adventure" tours. Such a creepy/interesting place, made even more so by the frigid temperatures! Definitely worth a look for the architecture and beautifully decaying cell blocks.

There's a little exhibit near the gift shop about past prisoners (including a dog!) and the prison's "isolation" techniques on inmates.

Very chilling -- pun intended. [Paige Mano, 08/20/2010]

The audio tour is very informative and doesn't limit your tour by forcing you to go in a specific order. We spent 3 hours just walking around and loved it! Awesome place to visit. [Joe Strollo, 08/02/2010]
