All this is from memory and could easily be wrong: When I was a teenager in the mid-'70s I went to a place called the Wayside Inn in Marlboro, MA, which at the time had a small circus museum. The big attractions were a huge tabletop scale model circus, a bunch of coin operated arcade machines and music boxes, and something alleged to be the Original Fiji Mermaid of Barnum fame.
Was it? What happened to it? The Wayside Inn is still there (I think) but the circus museum is gone.
