92-Foot-Tall Chrome Venus
The new 92-foot-tall, silvery, swirling stainless steel post-modern Venus de Milo statue is the tallest sculpture in San Francisco, a huge modern interpretation. It's the centerpiece of a piazza that also features eight blocks of marble, each with a portion of a figure (such as braided hair, flowing robes, and an angelic visage); a 25-foot-long marble table that looks like it's covered with a bunched-up tablecloth; and patterned tiles on the ground. While Piazza Angelo is private, it is open to the public daily from 8 to 6.
