Two miles north of town on US Hwy 163, on the east side. Turn east at the brown Mexican Hat Rock highway sign onto dirt Mexican Hat Rock Rd and drive in for a closer look.

A naturally eroded formation so charismatic that the nearest road and town were named for it. Tipster Roy offers: "Rumor has it that it was named Mexican Hat because no one knew for sure how to spell 'Sombrero.'"
