Cheshire, Connecticut - Muffler Man 
I can happily report that in July of 2009 the Cheshire, Conn. Muffler Man is in outstanding condition. Looks like he has been refurbished to like-new condition. His stellar appearance is in rather stark contrast to the dilapidated house he stands in front of. He was also not holding a flag, so either the town has lightened up on their ordinance or the owners are flaunting the law. [Gunnar Johnson, eccentricroadside.blogspot.com, 07/23/2009]

Or a custom beauty mark had been added to the Muffler Man "that must hold an American flag" in Cheshire, CT. Then we realized it was some kind of nest clinging there! Hornets? Wasps?
