Albany, Georgia - Muffler Man

The Muffler Man is behind the Mall ya'll. He is now on Stuart Ave. in Albany, Georgia (just behind the Albany Mall) He stands in front of an auto repair shop. For a while he had a speaker mounted in his foot so the owner could talk to people standing next to him. The owner of the "BIG" man also has a Shoneys big Boy at his house. At this time he is not holding anything in his hands. [rodney, 02/05/2006]

Albany, Georgia - Bunyan Muffler Man

Muffler Man iconThe Paul Bunyan giant is owned by my brother, O. T. McKenzie. There was a picture submitted of this same Bunyan man when he was located on Hwy 280 (aka 520 Corridor Z). The giant no longer holds a tire, since 9-11 he has become a patriotic flag holding type of guy! [Judy Pate, 06/23/2003]

Albany, Georgia - Bunyan Muffler Man

Muffler Man iconThe tire- holding muffler man did indeed originate in downtown Albany on West Broad Avenue; a long time landmark. Albany residents were miffed and disappointed when he came down some years ago, but are elated to find him in his current position on Highway 19 just across the Kinchafoonee Creek bridge in neighboring Lee County, GA. [Drake Durden, 08/02/1998]

Albany, Georgia - Bunyan Muffler Man

Muffler Man iconThere is a muffler man in Albany GA. We are truck drivers and spotted him on highway 280W. He is holding a tire. I'm not sure if the store he is located in front of is open or not. Being in a big truck, it was not possible for us to turn around at that spot and get a better look. He is definitely a Paul Bunyan type Muffler Man. Saw him just yesterday, 11-30-97. Is it my imagination, or is the invasion creeping southward! [Doug and Marti Driskell, 12/02/1997]
