It's cute if you need a rest stop, but definitely not worth going out of your way, in my opinion. The mini-buildings are just picnic table coverage.

The rest area has a Route 66 theme. The picnic tables are facsimiles of businesses that were on Route 66; a Phillip's 66 gas station, diner, barber shop, barn with Meramec Caverns painted on it, etc. The interior of the rest area had the entire Route 66 route from California to Chicago in tile on its lobby floor. The information room had a giant Missouri Route 66 road sign in tile on it's floor as well as old gas pumps. The ladies there said the westbound rest area was also decorated.
