Directions:
South end of the city. From US Hwy 62/S. Park Ave. turn west at the stoplight (Family Dollar store) onto Tifft St. Drive 1.5 miles. Turn left at the stoplight onto Ship Canal Pkwy. Drive a half-mile. You'll see a small parking lot on the right. Park there, then walk to the ladle straight ahead.

According to its accompanying sign, the ladle sits in a nature preserve that used to be furnace factory. Unfortunately, no local furnace factory ladles were available, so this one had to be trucked in all the way from Pittsburgh.
