This truly frightening festival occurs yearly over Memorial Day in downtown
Shreveport. All (and i do mean all, the rest of the shreveport area becomes completely and
disturbingly desolate), locals compete to eat the most "mudbugs," which to us normal people is
really a crawdad. Their little nasty bodies litter the streets while drunk Cajun hicks hoot
and holler and participate in such events as the crowning of
King and Queen Mudbug.
