Honolulu, Hawaii - Pineapple Water Tower - Gone

I can verify that the pineapple replica water tower in Honolulu has been torn down. I've been to Oahu and Hawaii Islands several times, courtesy of Uncle Sam's Air Force and for pleasure. Our daughter lived there for three-and-a-half years as a military wife, and our son visited her there twice during that time. We're all big fans of everything Hawaiian.

The first time I went back after the tower was removed I was very surprised, thinking that I was looking for it in the wrong location. After asking about it, I realized that change takes place quicker than we like, even in "Paradise." [Steve Krawitz, 03/16/2002]
