Akron, Ohio - All America Bridge - Another "Y" bridge

Besides the one in Zanesville, OH, the only other "Y" bridge in the US with three ends. It connects the North Hill area of Akron with the downtown area. It replaced the old North Hill Viaduct, which was demolished in 1978. As a result of the reconfiguration of Main Street, a few small businesses (including a great Italian restaurant called Luigi's) were isolated, and can only be reached by a back alley - type road. The small piece of Main St. has been turned into a parking lot by painted white lines on the brick surface. [Jim Eritano, 04/13/2002]
