Bruceville, Indiana - "Blue Flash" - Home-made Roller Coaster

Roller coaster enthusiast John Ivers spent two years of weekends and spare time constructing a private one-seat roller coaster in his back yard, unveiled in 2001. It is 20-ft. high and 180-ft. long, fashioned from junk metal and parts he scrounged from his job at a local equipment company.

The ride features a 360 degree corkscrew and goes over the top of a barn. Though it is getting a bit of press, it isn't really open to the public, but can be photographed from the road. If you politely knock on the front door, John may come out and talk about it, or even start it up if he's not at work or building another roller coaster... [Roadside America Team, 04/27/2002]
