Fort Benning, Georgia -
Famous Jump Towers
Fort Benning, Georgia - Famous Jump Towers Aside from the Calculator the Dog monument, another interesting area to visit on Fort Benning are the Jump towers in the Airborne training area near the Infantry School (Building 4).
Built by the same company responsible for the 1939 World's Fair attraction, they are still used to train soldiers to steer a parachute without
having to jump from a plane at 1,200 feet. The jump towers were featured in the Dean Martin-Jerry Lewis movie
Jumping Jacks (1952).
