Midget City

The tip that Midget City was moved to Highway 17-92 between Orlando and Sanford, Florida is off by at least a dozen years. The attraction, which looks to be the same one, was in Florida by 1950 or soon thereafter, and it was gone by the mid-1960s, if not earlier.

Midget City

Found this postcard for Midget City in Milan, OH. The back reads: "MIDGET CITY: The Biggest Little City in the World, in Milan, Ohio. Located two blocks south of the birthplace of Thomas A. Edison, on the same street. A complete city in an outdoor setting, constructed entirely by one man. Visited annually by thousands of people. Open May 1 to October 31."

Front caption: "The man in the picture is the builder. Office building at left is 22 inches high and has 244 windows."

According to tipster Mike Bickley, "Midget City was closed and moved to Orlando, Florida in the 1960s." Gary Munson sent info on an old postcard that placed Midget City: "On Route 17-92, midway between Orlando and Sanford, Florida" -- An entire miniature city built by one man in six years.
