Santa's Land was reopened last year. The current owner and animal caretaker were cited this week with a number of counts of animal cruelty after police found a large number of dead animals on the property. At the moment the owner of Santa's Land says it will remain open, but the future looks uncertain.[Laura, 03/07/2014]
The children's theme park property has had a new owner since 2013, reopening on select weekends and with plans to restore more, including reviving the long-shuttered Igloo restaurant.
This long-time attraction, which had closed in 2011, is set to reopen in time for the 2012 Christmas season. It has had its ups and downs through the years, struggling due to increased costs and decreased attendance. An auction of equipment had been scheduled to take place in October 2012, but a generous Secret Santa stepped in with a donation to enable the park to welcome visitors once again.[Julie, 11/11/2012]
