I would like to update you on the abandoned Jungleland Zoo. This property was purchased by Krush Acquisitions last month, and will be reconstructed to be a beer garden, brewery, and restaurant named Tiger Konig.
[Sharon Sung, 10/04/2020]Within the past few weeks the Gator was disassembled and scrapped. I talked to the people at the Gator Motel next door (which is open). I was told that Kissimmee has a local ordinance that requires all attractions to be well maintained and looking nice. The Gator owner [Jungleland Zoo, which shared the parking lot with the motel] wasn't interested in spending the money to restore the Gator, since their business is closed. So they had it scrapped within the past month. There is now just an empty parking lot.

The motel is closed, unfortunately. But the signs still exist, and this was one of the best sights we visited on our Roadside America trip. The gator is huge and a really neat place to take photographs.
[Ette2, 07/17/2014]While the gator itself remains (albeit in need of repairs), the JungleLand Zoo / park once located behind it is now CLOSED - and apparently has been for some time. The motel next door is still open, but usually seems occupied by some rather interesting guests.

A big loss for Kissimmee. At least the Gator Motel is open. We spent a memorable night there, kept awake by the nearby bellowing of alligators in heat.
