While the gator itself remains (albeit in need of repairs), the JungleLand Zoo / park once located behind it is now CLOSED - and apparently has been for some time. The motel next door is still open, but usually seems occupied by some rather interesting guests. [Nick, 03/06/2009]

Motel still open; people changing letters on motel message board. There was a "For sale" sign close to the property -- not sure if it was on the property or not. It was my parents' 37th wedding anniversary, and when we saw the huge alligator, we thought it would be fun to take pics with it. We pulled in, posed with it, and had fun! The giant gator in the parking lot of the JungleLand Zoo and Gator Motel in Kissimmee, Florida must have gotten a renovation lately. Now he's got a gaudy, wrecked jeep and a Steve Irwin-wannabe dangling from between his jaws. At night, the gator's eyes glow and his nostrils are illuminated with purple from the inside.
