While other towns may lay claim to being the "Capital" of turtle races, we in Nisswa, Minnesota beg to differ. We have documented proof that the year 2003 will be our 39th year of turtle races in our town. When we asked the other towns for documentation of origin, we did not receive a response. Therefore, we rest our case that Nisswa is the original home and capitol of turtle races in Minnesota. With between 400-600 weekly racers on Wednesdays at 2:00 pm who can argue?
