Noah's Ark Being Rebuilt?

The Ark has been there since at least 1974, when we moved to Colonial Heights. At the time, people who lived there said that this was the Ark builder's third and largest boat.

As I was getting out of my car at Noah's Ark, the Ark's builder was just finishing up cutting the grass. I pointed at my camera; he pointed at the Ark and said, "Go ahead!" So I got to walk all around the thing and see it up close.

As others have said, IT'S BIG. I really liked the fabricated steel shed next to the ark, too, which is apparently where the lawnmower is stored when it's not in use.

The first time that I saw this was in 1980. That's how long the builder has been at it. As of 2013 it's much bigger. This is in a residential neighborhood, on a dead end street. Prepare to have neighbors give you stares, and don't trespass. I would guess that the neighborhood has had 30+ years too much of this thing. It's BIG!

This particular Ark is made of metal and has an unusual triple-prow hull. The builder apparently feels he can improve on the classic Noah design.

Noah's Ark 2.0

A large boat under construction in a residential neighborhood. The owner may be building an Ark, but there is no way to determine his intention from just driving by. I will say this, this boat must be at least 65' long, (shows well on Google Maps satellite view) and the only way this thing will leave its present location is by floating out on rising flood waters.

Looks like kind of a trimaran ark...

Noah's Ark Being Rebuilt Here?

This ark is a little hard to find, but totally worth the laugh! The man lives on Farris off of Maple Grove. Happy travels.
