Every summer during the last week in july, Mattoon hosts bagel fest because the lender's bagel factory is located in Mattoon. The factory bakes the "world's largest bagel" and sends it down the main street in a parade. There are also big name musicians and a street fair. [c terrell, 05/27/2003]
