Steel beams from the 33rd to 36th floors of the North Tower of the World Trade Center support a flagpole formerly on the front lawn of a brick company. Company liquidated in 2015; ill-conceived auction of memorial cancelled. Town instead moved it to the Fire Dept.

The monument now stands at the fire station.
[The Void, 09/25/2017]The brick company went bankrupt in 2015 and planned to auction off the Memorial. Instead, it was moved to the town fire department.
Not there anymore as of 11/13/15.
[Reid, 11/21/2015]The memorial was moved to the front lawn of the town Fire Department in Sep. 2015.
The memorial as of 9/11/15 was moved to Salem Fire Station number 1 in downtown Salem, Va. Seems like a more fitting spot, and is now easier to get to and view.

Flagpole monument created out of beams from the 33rd to 36th floors of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The plaque at the base dedicates it to the fallen, civilian and professionals.
[Steve Gray, 10/02/2012]The monument, built by a local brick company, is dedicated "to all the innocent people killed by the terrorists on September 11, 2001."
