Visitor Tips and News About Big Pink Elephant
The Pink Elephant has received a fresh paint job this year, 2012. Nails and tusks are white and he has blue eyes. There's been some confusion about him being gone or hard to find, but he is where you show him on your map: on Highway 141 and Schneider Road, a little north of Highway 21, in Jefferson County near Fenton, on a gas station lot. Drive in any time. He is clearly visible from and faces Highway 141.[Steve Hanewinkel, 11/15/2012]
Booze-induced pink elephants are temporary, but the big roadside pink pachyderms usually stay put -- unless they're out water-skiing.
We could not locate the big pink elephant and no one at the gas station there seemed to know anything. I'm guessing it has been moved or destroyed.[Pam Ferguson, 04/07/2012]
We've since adjusted the map point more to the north, but this pink elephant may be history!
