There is a guided one-hour tour through the museum and factory where Martin Guitars are made. Learn about their history, craftsmanship, and what famous artists have recorded with their instruments.
[Mihaela Mfarej, 11/27/2023]As of this date, the website showed tours but it was closed up tight when we stopped by. No tours in the foreseeable future due to the virus. Call first.

The free tour goes around the whole factory and gives a vast amount of information throughout the hour. At the end you receive an engraved guitar hole disc. The perfect souvenir -- an actual piece of Martin Guitar!
[Samantha, 12/07/2014]Tours of the Martin Guitar Factory are now given between 11am - 2:30 pm Mon-Fri. The tour is free and is led by an employee of the factory (our tour was led by the lead machinist). It lasts about an hour and covers the entire production process - I don't play guitar, but I still found it very interesting.
There is also a Martin Guitar Museum with interesting displays which you can check out while waiting for your tour, as well as a gift shop and some sample guitars you can play. The museum is also free.
At the end of the tour, you get a round piece of wood (the cut outs from the sound holes in the guitar bodies) as a souvenir - a bit kitschy, but makes a nice coaster.
[Mike S., 04/24/2009]The Martin Guitar Factory - home of America's Guitar! Tours are usually given in the early afternoon - once a day. They will take as many people as show up. Many people tour the Crayola factory in the morning and then head over to the guitar factory.
