They were sisters and they're buried side-by-side with wooden headstones inside a white picket fence on a historic farm.

- Nelson Pioneer Farm and Museum. From downtown, drive north on US Hwy 63 for one mile. Turn right onto E. Glendale Rd. Drive two miles. Farm entrance on the right. Once you turn down the entrance road you'll immediately see two farm buildings on the left, with a driveway between them. The white picket fenced-in cemetery is straight back along that driveway, on the right side.

Located at Nelson Pioneer Farm, it is supposed to be the only known mule cemetery. The Nelsons, original owners of the farm, buried their faithful mules there. Operated by the Mahaska County Historical Society.

The "cemetery" is a tiny burial plot inside a white picket fence. Two mules are buried there, each with their own wooden headstones. Jennie and Becky were former Civil War Army mules, sisters, and white-colored. Jennie died in 1888, Becky in 1897.
