Noah's Ark
Just off Highway 70 near the Blanchett Bridge in St. Charles stands the defunct restaurant Noah's Ark. It is a large wooden boat that looks as though it has been shipwrecked. Several large fiberglass animals stand guard in the deserted parking lot, including a giraffe, elephant, and mastadon/mammoth. It is somewhat decrepit, but was really something in its day!
[Jamie Cooper, 06/04/2005]I was recently approached by a traveler who had a copy of your book. He wanted to take his very young son to the Noah's Ark Restaurant. Unfortunately, the restaurant has been closed for remodeling for almost a year. The building and a few of the animals remain at this time. Also the Coin-Op Museum has closed for those looking for entertainment in St. Louis. It was always one of my favorite places to just hang.

Here's a photo from our trip files of Noah's Ark back in the glory days of solvency. A larger-than-life Noah can be seen releasing a dove. We always liked the elephant, triumphantly planting the American flag Iwo Jima-style. Fix it up, add a pair of dinosaurs to the ship deck, and voila! -- Creationist Science Museum.
