Definitely no longer a free tour - and requires reservations as we found after driving 2 hrs to get there to find no availability they still got our dipping money though!
[SV, 06/06/2022]At the end of the tour there is a tasting of several Makers Mark bourbons. Not a bourbon fan but could become one after sampling their product!

When waiting for the tour in the Welcome Center, be sure to go into the "dining room" and stand near the family photos. After a few minutes, some of them will begin to talk! You'll think you've already had their bourbon. Also, you can buy and dip your own bottle in their trademark red wax in the company store at the end of the tour.

Tour of the distillery is lighthearted, fun and free.
[Greg, 04/03/2010]Probably the best distillery tour out there. It is about 40 or 50 miles out of Louisville, but is a great day in that part of the world. A great day trip if you are going to Mammoth cave or that part of the world.
