Knoxville, Tennessee: World's Largest Rubik's CubeA restored relic from the 1982 Knoxville World's Fair, though there is some doubt around its history. A complex set of motors made it move, then it broke, then it was repaired, now it's broken again.

Visitor Tips and News About World's Largest Rubik's Cube
Entered at the front of the the Holiday Inn, asked at front desk and they happily walked me to it![K8photo, 07/16/2012]
The Rubik's Cube is in the Convention and Exhibition Center. If you are at 701 Henley / The Sunsphere, cross the street and head towards the Holiday Inn. The Holiday Inn seems to be attached to the Convention and Exhibition center. If you enter the building near the Holiday Inn Restaurant you will find it just past the restaurant on the left. It is no longer functional, but it makes for a good photo op![Katelyn, 03/14/2012]
It took a little searching for us to find the building; lucky for us a random passer-by directed us. There may have been a sign that said "do not touch," but I just couldn't help myself. All 3 rows turned. I loved the fact that this was a gift from a World's Fair.[Danielle, 09/28/2011]
We visited the Rubik's Cube thinking it might no longer be there, but it was there! It was turned weird, and didn't make any attractive design, and it wasn't plugged in or anything and therefore just stood stationary. There was a neat little plaque by it describing the reason of it. Very neat and very easy to find! We just went into the Holiday Inn and asked the person at the desk about it, and he showed us the way.[Ricks, 03/20/2010]
Early April 2009 we saw the dismantled center of the Rubik's Cube being loaded onto the back of a pickup truck from in front of the Holiday Inn restaurant to destination unknown.[Tabitha, 04/14/2009]
