Snakes Alive was repaired after the fire as I visited it about three or four years ago, but when I visited recently it was closed down and replaced with a "Cobra Arcade." There is still a visible sign for Snakes Alive posted in the back. [Jacob Krejci, 08/30/2006]

"It's about 50 feet from the World's Most Photographed Indian; the row of shops there was all burnt down, stopping about a foot short of Snakes Alive. I paid the somewhat sullen old guy my dollar and went inside to a room full of snakes, and graphic photos of poorly-treated bites on all available wall-space (with info written like the guy has a Holy Mission to protect humanity from acting stupid after a poisonous snake bites 'em).
