High Point, North Carolina - World's Largest Bureau The World's Largest Bureau, and the building to which it is attached, now has a "For Sale" sign on it. Hopefully the new owner will continue to maintain this impressive roadside attraction. [M. Eggimann, 08/27/2006]
High Point, North Carolina - World's Largest Bureau Here is an updated view of the Giant Bureau. Notice that there is a "For Sale" sign in front. Also some news on the Big Chair in my home town of Thomasville. It was recently restored and in 2002, during the 150th town celebration, a 50 yr old time capsule buried at the base of the Big Chair was opened. The contents can be viewed at the city hall building, less than a block away from the square. [David Yemm, 05/18/2005]
High Point, North Carolina - Big Bureau In my hometown, High Point, NC...it's the Big Bureau! Actually the
world's largest bureau, located only ten minutes from Thomasville, home of
the World's Largest Chair.
The Big Bureau is the home of the High Point Jaycees, on Hamilton Street less than a mile from the center of downtown. It recently enjoyed a major makeover and is truly a sight to behold-- Queen Anne style, giant wood bureau, complete with a pair of socks hanging out of one drawer.
