Williamsfield, Ohio: One and Only Presidential Museum (Gone)

All U.S. Presidents had space here, especially those not recognized by other presidential museums. Nick Pahys Jr. revealed the shocking truth: George Washington was not the first President of the United States.

One and Only Presidential Museum

We visited on March 25, 2017, and found Nick Pahys now perambulating in what amounts to a wheeled scooter. Nick was quick to snap up the $20 bill I naively aired, charging my husband and I $5 each for admission to the museum and $5 each for the lecture, which was his take on everything from John Hanson (our real first President) to his 2015 prediction that Donald Trump would be elected.

When we told him that we had found him on Roadside America, he squinted and asked if RA had done a good job describing him. "I'm pretty good-looking," he asserted. "Hope they said that."

His museum is not much more than a thrift store. You have to dig to find any information about John Hanson and the first real eight Presidents. Nick displays well-shellacked plaques that are tributes to those he claims are the real Presidents of the U.S., but sometimes the numbers have fallen off, and he doesn't always update the plaques so that they frequently have erroneous info. That said, we found him to be a garrulous, affable, individual.

Given his support for Donald Trump (Nick reckons Trump is President 53, not 45.), his assertion that God (and not democratic elections throughout U.S. history) had put the Presidents in power, and his agreeable attitude regarding our questioning of his facts, we were happy to spend time with him. "You may have a point there," he told us with the aplomb of a psychologist humoring a poorly-thinking patient who had, after all, paid him $20.

Worth a Detour? We dispute that statement unless you don't mind driving down a dirt road that kicks up stones and mud for about four miles before reaching the museum, and then feeling as if you have to dig the information about the Presidents from beneath a pile of coloring books.

Although he is quite handsome, we agree that spending time with Nick Pahys is not for everyone. But it sure is memorable.

One & Only Presidential Museum

Nick Pahys is still spreading the truth from Williamsfield. According to Nick, Bill Clinton called him not long ago to see what Nick "had on him," and he's just received an invitation to represent the United States at an upcoming international conference in Europe. Unfortunately, health and finances may keep him from attending.

If only Bloomberg or Schwarzenegger would answer his mail or at least accept it.

One and Only Presidential Museum

The One and Only Presidential Museum is CLOSED! I went late Spring/early summer 2007 on my annual quest for the knowledge of Nick and found it boarded up. The lady working the general store across the square seemed afraid of the question of "where's Nick?" and said vandals smashed out the windows. Oddly this lady IS NOT the same lady who has owned/worked this store for years! WHERE IS SHE?

And more important, WHERE IS NICK?!? His black limo parked outside whenever he is in was not there on this or subsequent other trips! A recent friend was there October and no change. Also I see Roadside America was AT THE SPILLWAY this summer, a stone's throw from Nick, and you choose not to visit? Or are you hiding something as well?

[Dutch S, 12/17/2007]

Calm down Dutch. It's possible Nick is on an extended book tour, or perhaps a strategic retreat with others in the know. If anyone runs into Mr. Nick Pahys Jr., or knows his whereabouts, let us know!

Presidential Museum - Forgotton Presidents

According to the owner Nick Pahys, Jr., DDG, CH, AdVS, A.G.E, LDA, FIDA, Ambassador of Grand Eminence, it is "The one and only Presidential Museum informing every American who was the first President of the U.S.A [John Hanson] plus the others seven President under our first Constitution [Articles of Confederation]."

Before George Washington, eight men served as President of the the United States under the Articles of Confederation. This museum restores them to their rightful place in history and also honors the rest of the better known U.S. Presidents. Mr. Pahys is usually available to give visitors a personally guided tour of the museum.

The museum is located above the Hartsgrove Emporium which is a combination general store and beverage store.
