Paulding Light

It's a mysterious light off in the distance, some think its a ghost. There's a state historical marker and a guard rail to mark where it is best viewed. I've been their each of the last three summers and I am always part of a crowd of at least 10 people, so it really is worth seeing.

Paulding Lights - Mysterious Spook Light sightings

Strange lights are visible from the top of a hill at night; we went back in the daytime and there's nothing where the lights were -- just forest on a hill-top; and no roads behind the forest. Very strange. The lights move and are differently colored at different times -- we saw red and white one night, and red and white and green another. This is in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan -- not a lot of cars or industry up there.

The Paulding Light

Address:: Old US-45, Watersmeet, MI
Directions:: From US-2 in Watersmeet turn north at the blinker light onto US-45. Drive 5.5 miles. Turn west (no stoplight) onto Old US-45 (a dirt road). Follow the power lines a half-mile until the road ends at a dead-end barricade. At night there are usually people there. The light appears in the distance, farther north along the cleared power line path. Just sit and wait.
