[Kellie Parker, 01/27/2010]Gold Peanut - Community Art Project
The wife and I heard about the gold peanut in Dothan at RoadsideAmerica.com and had to find it when we stopped for the night. To our surprise, there were two other peanuts on the other corners across from the gold one. The wife got a brochure from the visitor's bureau that explained about the many peanuts scattered around town. The hunt was on.
We went through the downtown area and found several, as well as a few on the circular highway that encompasses the city. We didn't have time to find them all, and later found out we had driven by some without seeing them, including the one that should have been out in front of the hotel we stayed at.
It was a lot of fun looking for them, and the main reason we stopped for the night in Dothan.
