The roster of "Heroes of Liberty" runs the gamut from well-loved figures such as Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa and Oprah Winfrey to virtually unknown "ordinary citizens" who exhibit extraordinary courage. Their stories inspire visitors to become heroes of peace and tolerance in their own lives.
Gallery highlights include two life-sized children made of jellybeans (to represent diversity), a 2-floor "Flame of Liberty" sculpture, an exhibit of authentic White House china and a 9/11 memorial including a flag signed by rescue workers at Ground Zero. [Amanda Hall, 03/13/2004]
