Bright Spot for Health aka The Pyradomes
Sorry to say, the restaurant is closed. Still, a nice stop with an interesting history.
[M Kearns, 07/23/2015]The dome and pyramid buildings you see from the highway is now known as The Bright Spot for Health. Inside, the Taste of Health restaurant is one of the best kept secrets in Wichita. It is open for 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on weekdays and the food is tasty and healthy. An interesting gift shop, organic gardens and restful walking paths make this a highly recommended place to stop.

From the brochure when it was known as the Pyradomes: "The Pyradomes are wondrous spaces located on more than 90 acres and are the home of the Olive W. Garvey Center for the Improvement of Human Functioning ... serving thousands of people worldwide ... helping to stimulate an epidemic of health for the benefit of humankind." Housed a Biocommunication Research Institute and a Biosynergistic Education Institute. There was one large pyramid, about 30 feet high, empty on the inside, amid a number of domed structures. Sat next to a buggy pond, with signs on grass: "Thank you for not jogging," and "Let The Grass Live."
