I almost didn't stop... thank goodness I did! At The Greenhouse of Crystal Lake on Route 31, I only saw the Indian when I first passed. On the way back, there was a muffler man sporting a pair of hanging flower baskets. [Caren Pilgrim, 07/27/2009]

Palatine, Illinois - Muffler Men at Ozzie Water Park

The Ozzie Water Park closed for the season last fall and will not be re-opening. It is being razed to make way for a Whole Foods. Not sure of any plans for the muffler men located there. As of 5/16 they were still there. [m.keller, 05/29/2007]

Palatine, Illinois - Muffler Men

Two muffler men were spotted at the Ozzi Waterpark and Go Cart Park which is behind Route 12 Motors in unincorporated Palatine, IL. This rather disturbing park is located at 20263 Rand Road between Long Grove Road and Lake Cook Road. The sighting occurred on 12/5/98. Specimen number one is a small Indian style Muffler man with his right arm raised in the so-called "brave" salute. He has no accessories. Specimen number two is a small Bunyan with the standard hand configuration. The Bunyan is carrying a medieval double headed ax and looks particularly menacing. Strangely, neither of these specimens have feet. Their legs seem to sprout directly from the ground. [Rob & Anne Kern, 01/08/1999]
