Muffler Man. Muffler Man now a Saints Fan!

The Muffler Man's red shirt and blue pants were fading (and that was a paint job done long after the one in Sal's photo). Appropriately enough, he now wears a gloriously shiny pair of "gold" pants (no, not metallic -- he's not that flashy) and an equally shiny black shirt enhanced with a gold fleur de lis. This is more than just a sports thing, y'all -- after Katrina, the fleur de lis became our symbol, our stars and stripes.

Muffler dude wears it well!! [Kathy Martello, 10/25/2010]

Muffler Man. Muffler Man with a Crown

The Muffler Man has been repainted. He now has a black shirt with a fleur du Lis on the chest and gold pants. Looks good. [Andy V, 08/19/2010]
Muffler Man. Muffler Man - A King

I was a little worried about the potential condition of the big guy after that nasty hurricane, so on my way out of town after the holidays I stopped by and paid our large friend a little visit. I am happy to announce that not only is he standing proud and tall but he also has a new coat of paint. I stepped inside and an employee of the fine establishment told me that they refer to him as "The Big Guy." [Ashley and Ozwald Graves, 01/23/2006]
Muffler Man - A King

I've been driving past the muffler man in Metairie every day for almost three years now. I had no idea who he was because he stands in front of an auto insurance company. I thought he was some remnant from Mardi Gras as well, but now I know his true identity. He used to hold a pipe, but now his hands are empty. Currently he's wearing blue pants, a red shirt, and a giant gold crown. He has a very latino look to him. [Christine Morton, 01/01/1998]
