Centralia, Missouri: Larry Vennard's Metal Dinosaurs

These wonderfully done dinosaur sculptures tell a story of the days when in order to survive, one had to hunt for one's food. It is very visible from the road. I wouldn't recommend stopping on the road without being vigilant about local traffic. If you want a closer look, there is a church parking lot within a short walk down the narrow shoulder.

The sculptures are on private property, so please respect the owner's space and only enter the yard with permission. Once granted, your entry will come with great conversation.

This was surprisingly worthwhile ... Definitely off the beaten path. There are three large dinosaurs, plus some natives/hunters, an angel, butterfly and several other creatures. There are even more sculptures behind house.

On Route T, some 5 miles north and east of Centralia is a place with a half dozen or so different dinosaurs around the yard, all welded from metal implements. I believe it is a private yard, but they are right next to the road.
