Wilma Flintstone out for a ride on Dino the dinosaur. This fine piece of art is on the main drag of downtown Glasgow on the Glasgow Highway.[Phrank Phester, 07/28/2012]
Wilma, maybe...but in our minds, the mannequin gal started as a nod to Rachel Welch in "One Million Years B.C."
Looks like [the dinosaur with cavegirl Raquel Welch rider] is all that' s left. The restaurant is out of business and for sale. Still a nice little town and worth the detour.[Vince, 07/21/2011]
I drove through Glasgow, Virginia in mid-October to see if the rumors were true, and dinosaurs do indeed still roam the streets of small towns in western Virginia. As of that month, Mark Cline could still claim dominion over evolution, as I met this charming cave woman atop a brontosaurus on the main road through town. If memory serves, there was also a smaller stegosaurus standing guard by a local gas station, but it looks like the city's police force has done an otherwise adequate job of keeping prehistoric monsters out of Glasgow's business district.[Ryan Lintelman, 01/28/2009]
A cave woman sitting on a dinosaur. We are pretty sure it was in "downtown" Glasgow VA -- The Town That Time Forgot.[Rostetter Family, 09/12/2007]
According to creator Mark Cline the cave woman is modeled after Raquel Welch as Loana from One Million Years BC.
