Norfolk, Virginia - Mermaid City - Community Art Project

Norfolk, Virginia has over 300 mermaids, ten feet long and the "Heart & Art Mermaid Story Walking Trails." More mermaids are being made daily for this massive public art project that is still alive and growing six years after its beginning! [Lisa Suhay, 12/03/2006]

Norfolk, Virginia has hundreds of 10-foot-long mermaid sculptures all over the city. They are the city's permanent symbol. Playing "Find the Mermaids" has become a huge tourist pastime. Nobody has found them all...yet. [Lisa Suhay, 07/28/2004]
