Sorry to say, the Trout fishing statues are now gone. The only thing that's left is the "Trout Fishing" sign, eerily broken and half-peeking out from a tangle of vines. The good news, according to Journal Online, is that the giant fisherman and trout have been sold to a fish restaurant in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. Let's hope they'll be refurbished and adored as they should be.
[Anthrid, 04/17/2015]Golf Road Trout Farm was a long time childhood favorite of Chicagoland suburbanites. I should also mention it was considered a dump by more than a few people. A chance to hook a rainbow trout within earshot of the whizzing highway, close to home. Long time closed and with all legal junk out of the way, the grounds have been bulldozed, cleared and scraped clean just in time for a few more condos to go up. Satellite images showed the giant fisherman and trout to still be there after clearing but who knows how long that will last. I hope someone will step up and take the fiberglass giant to a better place and paint it up a bit for sharing with the rest of us.

This is a leftover from a miniature golf park that peeks out of the overgrown woods and can be seen on Golf Road, just off of I-294. There is a giant guy with a zombie smile catching a trout the size of a Miata. I hear they may be tearing the place down soon...so see it while you can.
