Would prefer to call this a "shoe exchange"... a little further out of town than we would have thought. Nevertheless, clearly visible. There is a store/trading post on the hill next to this attraction.
This shoe exchange seemed to be a surefire way to attract customers; however, we were not brave enough to enter.

[Jim Atkins, 01/19/2005]There's another shoe tree on Historic Route 66 just east of Stroud, OK. The tree (actually two of them now; apparently they're breeding) is on the south side of Oklahoma 66, on a little side road that's an older alignment of old U.S. 66. A hand-lettered sign beneath the tree says "Route 66 Shoe Tree." While you're there, head on into Stroud and eat at the Rock Cafe, which offers bison burgers, fried dill pickle spears, spaetzle with cheese (this is what mac and cheese wants to be when it grows up) and some of the finest chili to be had anywhere in the U.S.
