Muffler Man - Halfwit After surviving Hurricane Rita this gentle giant still stands in front of Ken's Muffler in Beaumont, TX. The Halfwit has spiffy new duds! He was recently painted. [Angie Cates, 06/22/2007]
Muffler Man - Happy Half-Wit There is an "Alfred E. Neuman" figure in front of Ken's Mufflers, on Eleventh Street in Beaumont, Texas. He has "Hollywood" painted on his shirt. There is another one on US 75 in north-central Dallas. Also, according to Hal Morgan's Symbols of America , a history of American trade symbols and logos, the Neuman face is actually "a peculiar folk creation used in cartoons and advertisements as far back as 1905 ...
