Wingdale, New York - Big Chair destroyed in Big Storm

The Big Chair at the Hunt Furniture Plant just off Rt 55 between Wingdale NY and Gaylordsville CT has met an untimely demise. The shopkeeper at the little toy shop says it was destroyed in a storm during the Spring of 2001. All traces cleaned up. I was totally bummed. [Alph Winter, 07/01/2001]

Wingdale, New York - Big Chair

The other day, one of my employees gave to me a copy of your page on Who's Got The World's Largest Chair?. I was pleased to see that my company, Hunt Country Furniture, was listed for once having the largest chair, but it indicated that we removed it due to vandalism. Well, we have rebuilt that big chair and made it a bit larger. Our new big chair stands 30' tall, and is located in our historic craft village. [Jeffrey E. Gillette, 09/10/1997]
