Mr. Peanut and his bench are currently off display for repairs. According to the Atlantic City Historical Museum, he is not on the city's top priority list for repairs. Please feel free to write the mayor of Atlantic City to move him up on the priority list. You can, however, see a Mr. Peanut costume on display at the Historical Museum, which is on the ocean side of the boardwalk a little past the Taj Mahal.

Sad to report that Mr Peanut was vandalized again.
He was put out on the boardwalk while the AC walk~in Visitors Center on the boardwalk was under construction to become a police substation and visitors center. And again, Mr Peanut has been sent to Cherry Hill, NJ for repairs. According to the visitors center staffers, they are seeking to have him mounted on wheels so he can be rolled onto the boardwalk when opening and rolled back in at closing time. They said they don't know if they'll get their wish. We shall see upon Mr Peanut's return to the Atlantic City boardwalk.
[Robert, 05/30/2012]The Mr. Peanut Statue is currently housed inside the AC walk-in Visitors Center in the entrance to the old skywalk that led to the now demolished Sand's Casino.
[Robert, 05/29/2009]The Garden Pier, where Mr Peanut is located, is temporarily closed due to visual corrosion. The Press of Atlantic City reported: "The city shut down Garden Pier, home to the Atlantic City Historical Museum and the Atlantic City Arts Center, after a visual inspection by an engineering firm alerted officials to potential safety hazards."
[Robert, 05/13/2009]Atlantic City's Mr. Peanut statue (and bench) has been moved to the Garden Pier. It sits under an eave to allow it protection from the elements, and the pier closes at 4 pm daily, so there is less chance of vandals attacking it again. Be aware that the Garden Pier parking lot closes promptly at 4 pm, so move your car or it will be towed.
Alas, there is a $2+ billion casino being built adjacent to the Garden Pier, and the new developers expect to purchase the Garden Pier and tear it down. The future site of the Mr. Peanut Statue is in question...
