Grab a window spot and wait for the wildlife. The kids rated this 5/5 stars and worth the trip! Hand-dipped chicken and potato wedges were great too.

We got a window seat and enjoyed watching about 23 raccoons dine on leftover chicken just outside the window in this family friendly restaurant. Bring the kids to check out this hidden gem and remember to bring cash, since they do not accept credit cards. The chicken dinner was the best I've had in over a year! Great food, great view!

Just make sure you come after dusk, as the raccoons are nocturnal, so you won't see them during the day unless you are very lucky!

Chicken-loving Raccoon.

Dine While Raccoons Scavenge - Alpine Inn

A fried chicken joint on the outskirts of Omaha (also a biker bar at night). The chicken is really good, but the interesting thing is that they feed the leftovers to raccoons and feral cats. The animals hang around all day and longingly watch you eat. If you're lucky, you can sit next to the wall of windows and watch the 'coons fight each other for position in the "viewing decks" built onto the tree outside. Definitely a unique dining experience.

[Brad and Ginger Young, 06/13/2005]

The raccoons normally come out after 6:30 PM in the summer.
