[Tom, 02/19/2016]This hybrid Muffler Man is no longer standing at this location. No word on where he went, or if he was destroyed.
[Steve M, 09/12/2015]Top-Hatted Mutant Muffler Man
In a former life, this statue was the Uncle Sam that stood in front of Mutual Ford in Springfield, MA, until 1999. Now painted completely white, with a softish-Muffler Man head and top hat. He appears to be a mix of liquor branding gentility: the top-hatted Johnny Walker with the white-suited Jack Daniels. The catchphrase of The Plantation Inn is "Southern hospitality in New England." The Big White Guy appears to serve as a visual marker for the C-5As that lumber continuously overhead, landing at a nearby Air Force base.
