Sod House Museum

Went to visit the museum, but a sign said that it was closed permanently. The sod house was outside and you can walk to it. However, it was in very bad disrepair.

[Jeannette Houghtaling, 05/11/2023]

The museum has opened and closed several times over the years. Without regular maintenance, a house made of sod will fall apart.

Sod House Museum

The Sod House Museum has been there for years, but reopened after being closed for over four years. There's a buffalo, horse, and Native American made from barbed wire, and a huge, free museum with history pieces. Great picnic area and just off the interstate. Worth a pit stop with or without kids!

Sod House Museum

Outdoor exhibits include the World's Largest Sod Buster (a plow); a barbed wire buffalo, horse, and Indian; and a large wooden ear of corn. The sod house has a small, free museum; it's a neat place to see history.

Sod House Museum - World's Largest Plow

The museum was not open when we visited, and there was a For Sale sign out front. The World's Largest Plow was covered in weeds. We climbed the fence, along with another couple, to look at the barbed wire animals and peek inside the sod house.
