Leaning Tower of Britten

The water tower is there, leaning in all of its glory, as is the old sign for the gas station with the leaning tower on the top. The water tower is really easy to see from I-40, easy to exit the interstate and get right back on. It's a great, quick stop.

Britten leaning water tower.

Britten Water Tower

The water tower was bought at an auction and was going to be used as the town's actual water tower. However, it never met code. So instead of wasting it, Ralph Britten decided that anyone can have a water tower, but his was going to lean.

He placed the water tower near the family truck stop and restaurant. Although the restaurant and truck stop burned down, you can visit Ralph's grandson at the Auto Shop that is now where the truck stop and restaurant used to be.

This is the true and only story of the leaning Britten Water Tower.

Love, a member of the Ralph Britten Family.

Easy to get to. It's right off of the highway, before you see the gas stations, and there is a gravel road to park on.

The water tower seems to be melting in the Texas heat!
